A bit about me...
I grew up surrounded by the arts; my father was a musician, my mother was a painter, and my sister is an opera singer. Throughout my childhood, I did a little bit of artwork here and there, but I was mostly focused on music, playing clarinet and piano. After college, I took a couple art courses but never found any traction with it, and then was focused on my career in human resources and organizational development.
But something was missing, I needed a creative outlet, so I started exploring, taking writing courses and some art courses. And I'd always had a fascination with learning about world cultures - the language, the people, the lifestyle -- everything. This led me to travel as a volunteer in China for several months, and later to teach ESL in Spain. During this time I continued pursuing art, taking weekly classes in the Boston area, and painting some of my travels.
In 2019, I had my first solo show, which led me to decide to focus even more seriously on art and to begin classical studies in the Boston area and to attend a 6 week intensive at the Florence Academy of Art, which solidified my desire for more learning. This is just the beginning, more to come!
