A bit about me...
I'm a person with many interests. I grew up surrounded by the arts; my father was a musician, my mother was a painter, and my sister is an opera singer. Throughout my childhood, I played clarinet and piano, and I took some art courses off and on in school. And looking back, I realize now that I also had a fascination with learning about different cultures - the language, the people, the lifestyle -- everything.
In college, I pursued other interests that I'd always had in human interaction and psychology, and since then most of my career has been in human resources and organizational development. In 2008, I was looking to broaden my experiences, and traveled as a volunteer to China for several months - this trip ignited my passion for travel, and gave me a chance to return to my childhood interest of learning about different cultures.
A couple years later, I took some time off from work to assess my career. It was at this time, that I found myself coming back to my artist roots -- I signed up for several drawing and painting courses with many different teachers and began to find my process and develop my own style.
During this time, I also became certified to teach ESL and moved to Spain to teach English, something I had wanted to do again since volunteering in China. My path is more circular than linear and I hope to bring all of my interests together in my work and my art. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
